What happened

Stratasys launched FDM PA6/66-GF30-FR for its Fortus 450mc and F900 systems. The nylon-based material contains 30% glass fiber and is designed for stiff, flame-retardant components.

The manufacturer reports compliance with EN 45545-2 HL2 requirements for R22/R23 and FMVSS 302. Its release connects the material with rail maintenance and on-demand spare-part production.

Those stated material requirements do not automatically approve every finished rail component. Application qualification, design and the production workflow remain important when replacing parts on long-life transport equipment.
