Beckum’s printed house opens after a concrete-printing demonstration
PERI’s German project connected a new wall-building process with design and approval work.

What happened
PERI announced the opening of the printed house in Beckum, Germany, in July 2021. The project used a COBOD BOD2 printer and was designed by MENSE-KORTE.
Printing had started in September 2020. PERI identified HeidelbergCement’s i.tech 3D mortar and described engineering and approval testing involving specialist partners and the Technical University of Munich.
The opening marked a completed demonstration building, rather than proof that all construction tasks had been automated. The project’s regulatory and engineering work was part of bringing the printed structure into use.
