What happened

BLT’s May report describes its role in validating AccMaterial’s RAE-series aluminum alloys. The development involved researchers at Shanghai Jiao Tong University and was reported in Nature Communications.

The material strategy aims to improve strength while retaining useful ductility, a combination that can be difficult to achieve in printed aluminum. BLT-S210 and S450 systems supported engineering trials and the production of representative structures.

The report includes complex printed examples and measured properties for the investigated grades. Those results belong to the studied compositions and processing conditions. They provide a basis for further engineering validation, rather than automatically qualifying every future application made with the alloys.
