About the event

Formnext is an international exhibition and convention for additive manufacturing and industrial 3D printing, organized by Mesago Messe Frankfurt with the VDMA as honorary sponsor. The 2026 edition runs for four days at Messe Frankfurt, in Halls 11 and 12 and the Portalhaus.

Exhibitors cover the whole process chain: AM systems, materials, software, post-processing, quality and metrology, services, research institutes and workforce development. Visitors come from aerospace, automotive, medical and dental technology, tooling, consumer goods and many other industries.

Printer makers use the show for launches: for 2026, the Formnext site flags a new EOS polymer production platform and a new Stratasys manufacturing platform. It is a practical place to compare metal and polymer systems, post-processing and software in one visit.

What’s on

  • Opening hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday to Thursday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, according to the visitor flyer.
  • Formnext reports that its 2025 edition had 804 exhibitors and 38,282 visitors on 49,400 square meters of exhibition space.
  • The 2026 program lists Discover3DPrinting introductory seminars with ACAM, a post-processing showcase with guided tours, a Start-up Area with the Pitchnext event, and a BE-AM symposium on AM in construction.
  • The Formnext Awards include public voting and an award ceremony; the new Formnext Defence Summit debuts on 17 November.
  • The United Kingdom is the 2026 partner country, and an AM Innovation and Standards Summit takes place one day before the fair.
