25 µm is manufacturer-stated XY positioning resolution; the same source lists an 85 µm laser spot. These are different metrics.
How LFS works
A moving Light Processing Unit uses lenses and mirrors to deliver the laser perpendicular to the build plane. A flexible tank reduces separation forces during printing. Form 3 uses one optical unit, while Form 3L uses two.
Workflow and service
The introduction describes remote job submission, a shared queue, sensing and alerts, and user-replaceable components. These features belong to the LFS generation; they should not be confused with the LCD-based Form 4 print engine.
Introduced in 2019.
Announced April 2, 2019 and available to order then; exact first-shipment date is not established here.

What changed
- Introduced LFS with a flexible tank and a modular Light Processing Unit to reduce separation forces.
Read this with the specifications
The current support page lists factory-reconditioned Form 3 units while stock lasts; this is a legacy generation, not a claim of ongoing new manufacture. Current build volume is 145 × 145 × 193 mm. Official guidance says removing taller prints above 185 mm requires removing the tank. Values are current published envelope, not necessarily the launch configuration.
A larger nominal envelope does not establish better print quality. Fit depends on the configuration, usable area, supports, and orientation.
