Snapmaker names 20 U1 Innovation Fund winners
The first round rewards community firmware, multi-material tools and other extensions to the U1 platform.

What happened
Snapmaker selected 20 projects from 67 entries in the first phase of its U1 Innovation Fund. The October announcement allocates $51,000 in this round, within a broader $150,000 program.
Leading projects include FullMultiNozzlePrinting, which supports different layer heights across extruders, and multiACE, which connects multiple Anycubic filament units. An extended firmware project also adds developer access and diagnostic capabilities.
The awards show how a printer can gain new workflows through community development. They are project awards rather than a guarantee that every modification is a supported retail feature. Snapmaker says the second phase opens October 28 and runs through December 24.
