Additive Industries and Materialise update MetalFab build preparation
A new build processor improves the connection between Magics and the MetalFab production platform.
What happened
Additive Industries and Materialise launched a next-generation build processor for MetalFab in October. The software connects preparation in Materialise Magics with machine-specific processing for metal powder-bed production.
The announcement emphasizes multiprocessing, large and complex jobs, and more detailed scan control. Existing profile import is intended to help users transition from established preparation workflows.
One benchmark in the announcement reduced processing time from 46 minutes to six. That is an example workload, not a universal speedup. Faster preparation is particularly useful where large files or repeated build changes keep a machine waiting for its next production job.
