Snapmaker pairs four calibrated filaments with Full Spectrum color printing
Cyan, magenta, yellow and gray PLA profiles simplify an optical color-blending workflow.

What happened
Snapmaker introduced a PLA Full Spectrum bundle designed for its U1 printer and Snapmaker Orca software. The four filaments have calibrated light-transmission properties, reducing the need for users to characterize unrelated spools themselves.
The process alternates thin layers of partially transparent filament to create perceived colors beyond the four loaded materials. It does not melt the colors together into a new pigment. Software controls the layer combinations and provides matching filament profiles.
Full Spectrum began as a community project by Radu, known as Ratdoux, before becoming part of the Snapmaker ecosystem. The September announcement supports the workflow in Snapmaker Orca 2.3.6 or later, bringing material selection and slicing closer together.
