What happened

Safran marked its Additive Manufacturing Campus’s fifth anniversary in September. Campus leader François-Xavier Foubert reported more than 25 part numbers in serial production, compared with five or six at the start.

The campus delivered 15,000 parts in 2025 and expected 18,000 in 2026, according to the interview. The latter is a forecast, not a completed-year total. Applications include structural components intended to reduce helicopter-engine weight.

Safran also describes around 100 development and industrialization projects and expanded operator training. Its next priorities include larger parts, productivity and qualification of increasingly critical components. The update ties machine capability to the people and processes needed for sustained production.
