Prusament starts selling pellets for extrusion and materials research

Small batches open another route beyond buying finished filament spools.

What happened

Prusa announced Prusament Pellets in October 2026, offering natural-color PLA, PETG, ASA and PC Blend in two package sizes. The feedstocks target pellet-based printing and small-scale polymer development.

The company describes uses including experimental filament extrusion and blending with additives. Pellets are raw feedstock, so they are not a direct replacement for a spool in a conventional filament-fed printer.

The announcement broadens access to smaller material batches. Any custom blend still needs its own processing and performance checks rather than inheriting the properties of a finished commercial filament.
