What happened

Prusa introduced PA11 Natural in July 2026 for applications including gears and other moving parts. The material offers a different option from fiber-filled nylon blends.

The company emphasizes moisture management, describing PA11 as hygroscopic and recommending drying before printing. That requirement matters when comparing a new spool’s potential with its behavior in a real workshop.

The announcement is a material introduction, not qualification for every mechanical assembly. Part geometry, environment and repeated loading determine whether a printed component is suitable.
