What happened

Formlabs announced Tough 1000 and an updated Tough 2000 resin on November 13, 2025. They join Tough 1500 in a family aimed at functional parts on the Form 4 series.

The company compares selected properties with HDPE, polypropylene and ABS. It positions the materials for applications involving impact, repeated wear and different balances of flexibility and stiffness.

Those comparisons concern material properties and manufacturer testing. They do not make a cured photopolymer identical to a thermoplastic under all temperature, aging or chemical conditions.
