What happened

Farsoon and Apollo Automobil described their Apollo Evo exhaust collaboration in October. The project uses metal additive manufacturing for titanium exhaust pipes and tips across the planned ten-car series.

Design work began early enough to adapt the parts for printing on a six-laser FS811M. Farsoon reports that beam-shaping technology helped avoid internal supports, while the visible exhaust tips incorporate a textured surface.

The case study connects design, manufacturing and the appearance of a finished vehicle, including the Caribbean Dragon customer car shown at Goodwood. It is a low-volume production application, illustrating where complex geometry and distinctive styling can justify a specialized manufacturing route.
