What happened

Eplus3D reported that Hankook Precision Works had moved metal additive manufacturing into stable production for tire-mold components. The application concerns fine sipe features used to form tire tread details.

The supplier’s account highlights complex geometries, surface quality and consistency across production volumes. Images show EP-M300 systems at Hankook’s facility.

This is an example of printing the tooling used to manufacture a conventional product. The tires themselves are not printed; additive manufacturing provides an alternative route for intricate metal features within their molds.
