EOS joins materials research for the hydrogen economy
EOS joins MAT-H2 to investigate metals and manufacturing processes for demanding hydrogen environments.

What happened
EOS announced its participation in the MAT-H2 consortium in July. The group brings industrial companies together with VTT and the University of Oulu to study materials and technologies for hydrogen applications.
EOS contributes metal additive manufacturing and material-characterization expertise. The work connects with Wärtsilä’s WISE development program and addresses the challenges that hydrogen creates for metallic components.
This is a collaborative development program, rather than a newly qualified hydrogen product. Its value lies in connecting material testing with practical manufacturing requirements before applications move toward production.
