What happened

Designtech, Caracol and LAMÁQUINA announced a permanent Milan hub for large-format additive manufacturing applied to design. A Heron AM system is operational within Designtech’s space.

Caracol supplies the printing platform, software and process knowledge, while LAMÁQUINA contributes computational design and robotic fabrication experience. The partnership targets designers, studios and brands developing furniture and architectural work.

The initiative provides access to industrial fabrication without requiring every studio to own a robot cell. Project outcomes will still depend on material selection, engineering and finishing requirements.
