Why the S revision mattered
MK3S replaced the earlier filament-sensing arrangement with a lever-triggered optical sensor that does not depend on the filament’s optical appearance.
Serviceability and multi-material
The extruder revision improves access to the nozzle and PTFE tube. MMU2S was a separate upgrade with different sensing parts and an external filament buffer.
