Printing is followed by debinding and sintering

Metal X extrudes metal powder held in a polymer binder. The green part goes through Wash-1 solvent debinding and then a Sinter-1 or Sinter-2 furnace. The stated 85–170 µm layer range is explicitly post-sinter, and furnace capacity should be checked separately from printer volume.

Cycle-time qualifications

The manufacturer gives typical furnace cycles of 26–31 hours. Sinter-2’s 17-hour express example applies to small loads of up to 250 g, not arbitrary full builds. The current page’s mislabeled furnace table is not used to assign washing or solvent specifications to the furnace.

Read this with the specifications

The live Metal X product page was accessible and read on 2026-10-16. It gives a 300 × 220 × 180 mm printer build volume. Washing, sintering shrinkage and furnace clearance remain separate constraints; the quoted 85–170 µm layer range is post-sinter. Stock and delivery status were not established.

A larger nominal envelope does not establish better print quality. Fit depends on the configuration, usable area, supports, and orientation.
