Two different material paths
The left direct-drive head is intended for the model material; the right auxiliary path is intended primarily for support material. The right feeder sits at the back of the machine, reducing toolhead mass but introducing a longer filament path.
Calibration and usable height
The auxiliary path needs different retraction and flow-dynamics settings from direct drive. Bambu specifies lower speed and acceleration limits for that path. Activating the right head reduces maximum print height by 4 mm, which matters when planning a tall dual-material job.

- Main direct-drive extrusion plus auxiliary Bowden extrusion
Read this with the specifications
The main-nozzle volume is shown in comparisons. Using both nozzles reduces the shared build area to 235.5 × 256 × 256 mm.
A larger nominal envelope does not establish better print quality. Fit depends on the configuration, usable area, supports, and orientation.
