What happened

3D Systems announced a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement with Savannah River National Laboratory on August 27. The partnership centers on the laboratory’s Advanced Manufacturing Collaborative.

The stated scope includes materials, equipment improvements, AI-assisted process optimization, cybersecurity and workforce development. Advanced energy and nuclear-system applications are among the intended areas of work.

The agreement establishes a research program and route toward technology transfer. It does not mean the proposed components are already qualified for nuclear service.
