Hot-part process and material development
Calibur3 uses NeuBeam in a 300 × 300 × 450 mm build volume. Wayland describes heating the part without producing a hard surrounding sinter cake. A removable tank can be exchanged for a smaller tank to reduce material requirements during development.
Monitoring and powder recovery
Structured light, electron imaging and thermal cameras monitor the process. After printing, the build tank moves to the separate Calibur PRS for cleaning and powder recovery, including classification and sieving. Broad claims about eliminating supports or heat treatment remain application-dependent and are not used as universal operating rules.

Open materials development does not mean that every metal already has a qualified production parameter set.
A larger nominal envelope does not establish better print quality. Fit depends on the configuration, usable area, supports, and orientation.
