Formlabs announces a $699 entry into its resin ecosystem
Form Studio 1 targets a lower purchase price, with shipping scheduled after the announcement.
What happened
Formlabs introduced Form Studio 1 on October 14 with a starting price of $699. Its release says worldwide orders opened that day, with global shipping scheduled to begin November 16. At our October 23 review, that shipping date remains in the future.
The printer uses a new engine based on Formlabs’ Low Force Display technology. The launch also includes Alpha resins starting at $29 per liter and a combined washing-and-curing accessory. An optional Resin Tank Pro supports a broader range of third-party materials.
Formlabs promotes a 98% success figure, but its footnote says Studio 1 reliability testing is still underway and refers to comparisons with Form 4. That distinction matters when comparing a new launch with an independently tested machine.
